Freewrite on Promises

Promises may be fragile or strong, depending on the people who make them. Promises can be broken or kept, and they can be made between two people or by a single individual. There are many different types of promises, such as marriage, a more serious promise, to a more simple promise such as keeping a friend's secret. A broken promise might have the chance to be mended, or it might remain broken forever. A broken promise can breka a friendship, a relationship, a dedication. Similarly, a promise kept can strengthen anything, often for eternity (i.e. marriage).

  2. promises are fragile, and the only true promises one is able to keep would be to ones self. Then you know you won't be let down because breaking a promise to yourself is extremely hard.

  3. promises are fragile and strong and can be easily broken or kept depending on the person who made that promise. true promises are made by ourselves and are the ones that we keep forever because we know ourselves and which promises we can and cannot keep. but knowing that you let someone down can be hard, especially on the person who broke the promise and the person one made the promise to. promise are fragile, yet strong and should be handled with care so has to not break them. and your freewrite on promises was insightful and true and people should be considerate on the promises they make to others.

  4. Promises are made every day yet close to none are ever actually kept. I agree with Alyssa that the only true promise one is able to keep is to one's self yet it is also true that it depends on who makes the promise. Promises are known to break more than just a friendship or a relationship, but in the end I myself like to see how much trust I can actually have in someone.

  5. Promises are made every day, its the ones that are kept that matter the most. Holding your promises and being loyal is being a "man of your word." My grandfather always told me that people who can be trusted are the ones to keep in your life, and those are the one that keep promises. Even though almost everyone makes promises, its best to not make one if it cannot be kept.
